State Tax Burden

State taxes are an important factor for companies considering major investments. Low State taxes enourage increased investment and the creation of jobs. The Tax Foundation provides information about State taxes and direct investment. 

South Dakota is rated number 1 for the lowest tax burden, Florida number 5, and Illinois number 23. Our two large important coast States of California and New York are ranked 49th and 50th.
