Japan to Phase Out Nuclear Power?


Japan is considering phasing out of nuclear power. This is a big mistake in my judgement. We need clean electric power. 

I am all in favor of green sustainable power coming from solar, wind, tides, and underground. But we will still need massive amounts of power. Our conventional choices are coal, gas, oil, and nuclear. Nuclear is the cleanest of the major sources by far.

"Four months after an earthquake and tsunami hit Japan triggering the worst nuclear energy crisis since Chernobyl, the country’s Prime Minister has finally addressed Japan’s energy future. In a statement released yesterday, Naoto Kan said that his country should learn from the disaster and phase out its use of nuclear power."
