There has been much discussion of tax cuts and tax reform. Reform is needed, but not a reduction in revenues. The US national debt has increased substantially and is projected to continue to grow.
In 2016 our combined total gross national debt was $18.96 trillion or about 104% of the previous 12 months of GDP. This is a very high figure for us. We need to start balancing our budgets and reduce our debt level to GDP. You can't do that with big tax cuts.
