Subject:                      Citizens Academy

 

 

Applications are available to residents of Peoria to attend the Citizens Academy, which will be held from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.  on October 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th. A graduation ceremony will be held at the City Council meeting on November 10th.

 

The Citizens’ Academy is an opportunity for residents to learn about the services provided by City departments, and to meet City staff and other professionals involved in City services. The Academy consists of five, 90-minute classes presented by City staff representing all City departments. Participants will be transported to various departments on a CityLink trolley. The tours will also afford participants opportunities to share their approaches to neighborhood organizing and neighborhood improvement.

 

Academy participation is limited to 20 participants who are 18 years or older and a resident of the City of Peoria. There is no cost to participate.
